During the last two weeks of the year, I threw caution to the wind. I declared myself on vacation from everything. Didn't care what I ate, didn't care that I sat on the couch days at a time catching up on my recorded shows, renting movies and neglecting all things domestic. Yes, I was a lazy slob (although I still did manage to shower and brush my teeth). I didn't worry at all that I hadn't made any beads to sell in ages and my 2 day a week part time job was down to one day or no days.
I was content - sort of. I knew I was wasting my days. I was whittling my life away. However, in the back of my head I knew that change for the better was just around the corner. I had my sights set on Monday, January 5, 2009. Aiming for January 1st was futile as it was way too close to the weekend.
I'm happy to report that two days of effort and accomplishments have come to an end as I write this. I have managed to walk for one hour on the treadmill at a pretty steep incline. I opted for healthier food choices and I'm happy to say, I'm happy. The career area still needs improvement, but hey, one step at a time.
I did manage to photograph some goodies and the results were fantastic. I'm sporting a new bead avatar in my ETSY shop. Wanna see????
Ah, I feel so energized today. I got up at a regular time and decided to do some long forgotten Yoga. It was great to feel so focused so early in the morning.
I did force myself to get out there for a walk after breakfast and I am so glad I did.
I've done more in the last hour than I got to do all day yesterday. I hope everyone has such a productive day!

April is my self-proclaimed self-discipline month. I have been making more bead sets as opposed to focal beads. I have to work on the cleaning and photographing end of it. I started running again. I've been doing pretty good with eating. Absolutely horrible with getting work done!!!
It's tough trying to be good. My first day of running was on Monday. I have a mile route that I measured in the car so I started running towards my first 1/4 mile spot. CHEST BURNING....
Walked the next 1/4 mile. CHEST BURNING...but subsiding.
Ran the next 1/4 mile. CHEST REALLY BURNING...HEAD THROBBING IN PAIN ON RIGHT SIDE
Walked the rest of the way. I figured new running shoes were in order so I have some nice ones with touches of pink :)
I persevered and got out there today. A world of difference! Night and Day I say. I started off running the 1/4 mile and no chest issues so I ran a couple of more blocks. To make a long story short, I added an extra 1/2 mile of running/walking, came home and stretched, did my rolling plank move I saw on Bravo's Workout, did a downward dog for 30 seconds and well,
I'M HURTING! But it's a good kind of hurt. I teach martial arts to pre-k kiddies so I usually take the day off from torching. Since my laundry day is on a Sunday it went ignored thanks to lots of food. And on that note, I'm off to fold another load. So, how mundane was your day?
BTW, one of my latest beads. How would you design around it?
